How Qoheleth Teaches

Qoheleth is much more than a great action game--it is also a powerful teaching tool which can help you to explore every book of the Bible. The game uses a special teaching technique during play to help children and adults alike remember these lessons for months and years to come.

The "crown jewel" of the educational facet of Qoheleth is the comprehensive Study Guide, which unfolds and sharpens each of the nearly 200 lessons being taught during game play. To learn more about this amazing part of Qoheleth, click here.

Qoheleth (which can be translated "teacher") wants to teach not only the names and order of the books of the Bible, but also what God says in each of them. To accomplish this, Qoheleth introduces key truths, verses and stories from each book of the Bible.

Each truth, verse or story is repeated through several levels of play so you will come to recognize and remember it. A collection of the same repeated truth found through several levels of play is a "lesson."

Qoheleth teaches 3 lessons for each of the 66 books of the Bible--almost 200 lessons! You can view all 198 key truths taught by Qoheleth on the Lesson page.

Qoheleth is designed to "wean" players away from statistics so that you will be able to identify each Bible book solely by its "lessons," that is, the key truths it contains.

In the beginning levels of play for each lesson, the lesson clue to help you identify the book is short, and shares a place with other clues, such as what book comes before or after, the type of book (such as Gospel or Prophet), and the number of chapters in the book.

In later levels of play for the same lesson, some clues are withdrawn, and the lesson clue expands.

By the final level of play for a lesson, all the clues to help you identify the book have disappeared--except for the lesson clue. This means players will need to identify each Bible book by the lessons it contains, and not rely on memorizing statistics.

The earlier lessons are re-visited throughout the game in "review" playing levels. For example, the New Testament lesson learned throughout Levels 1 through 5 is again encountered in Level 15 as a review.

The Final Level

The final (20th) level is structured to review all 3 lessons from all 66 books. How? By listing 3 possible lessons, of which only 2 are valid! It's a good idea to know your lessons by the time you arrive at Level 20!
